Honoring Those Who Served

On this Veterans Day, and every other day of the year, we want to thank and honor those men and women who have served and who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe and free.

We are also reminded that beyond the physical injuries that our service members endure and that we can see, the silent epidemic among returning military members is invisible: chronic pain, PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, sleep disorders, anxiety and other symptoms of stress and trauma.  These conditions can lead to suicide and violence, overmedication or addiction to pain killers, and the inability to cope in the world after their return home.

Preserving the physical and mental health of these men and women is vital to ensuring the future readiness of our military force, as well as honoring and paying our debt to those who have served.  It also ensures the health and stability of our families and communities, so that these men and women can continue to be productive contributors of their valuable training and skills in our society.

The Healing Warriors Program, a new 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is treating these conditions so that our military men and women, and their families, are once again healed, healthy and whole. Healing Warriors Program is a Registered Vendor with the Denver and Cheyenne Veterans Administrations.

In the last few years, more patients have been asking for Integrative Care of their injuries, such as those offered by HWP, and the Veterans Health Administration is listening. Integrative care combines standard medical treatments with complementary care therapies, such as acupuncture, cranio sacral, massage, Jin Shin Jyutsu and Healing Touch.  Recent research indicating compelling and demonstrable results have triggered various initiatives in this area, including the attention of the VHA and the Army Surgeon General’s Pain Management task force.

War takes its toll on everyone involved, especially our service men and women who find that, long after they leave the combat zone, the war continues to rage inside them.  No one leaves unscathed, even if some wounds are not visible.

This Veterans Day, and as you plan your gifting for the upcoming Holiday Season, we ask that you please consider a gift donation to the Healing Warriors Program.  HWP provides clinic services to our veterans and active duty service men and women, and their families, offering various treatments for pain management, PTSD symptoms, and other conditions of stress, anxiety and trauma.

I'm giving back this Veterans Day to all those who have served ... Please support this important effort with a donation today!
