For the coffee lover, there's no better treat to go with a cup of coffee than a plate full of Coffee Kisses cookies. |
September weather often allows us many ways to enjoy our favorite beverage (second only to afternoon tea, of course!).
On cold, chilly September mornings, a nice hot cup of coffee is a wonderful way to start the day. I've already had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season, thanks to my darling niece who brought me one just a couple of days ago! But when the temperatures climb throughout the day, or when Indian Summer comes along for an extended stay, a tasty iced coffee beverage or cold brewed coffee keeps us awake and moving through the afternoon.
In fact, a cool coffee punch is a wonderful way to entertain your guests at your next gathering. In honor of National Coffee Day, enjoy our Mocha Milk Punch recipe from a vintage copy of our "The Tea Times" newsletter from back in the day ...

Mocha Milk Punch
1/2 gallon (64 oz) strong hot coffee
1 cup sugar
1/2 gallon (64 oz) chocolate ice cream
1 can whipped cream
ground cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1/2 gallon (64 oz) chocolate ice cream
1 can whipped cream
ground cinnamon
Combine the coffee and sugar in a large punch bowl, and stir until the sugar dissolves; chill well. Fold in ice cream just before serving. As you ladle each serving, spritz whipped cream and sprinkle the cinnamon on top of each cup. Yield: about 1 gallon (128 oz) of punch.
Enjoy all the special days ahead with coffee and Afternoon Tea!
